Murray vs Djokovic Cincinnati OpenThe Cincinnati tournament final took place on Sunday, where Maria Sharapova and Andy Murray won the titles. The Britain’s Murray won over the number one tennis racket Novak Djokovic, with a result of 6-4 and in the second set, after 3-0 result for Andy Murray, he retired injured. On the other side, Maria Sharapova defeated Jelena Jankovic witha result 4-6, 7-6 and 6-3 in the final set. All in all, this tournament was quite as expected. The quality of the player was on minimum level, considering the event that will take place one week from now, the US Open. All of the players seemed like they were “saving” themselves for the US Open Grand Slam. Lets hope that we will watch interesting games during the US Open.

Federer-Delpotro in Western and Southern Open 2011

Federer DelpotroThe match between Federer and Delpotro is just about to start. They are playing to get into the third round. So, the first game began with Federer on serve, and he had the two asses already . He made two unforced errors, but he won the first game. The second game began with a great forehand return by Federer. This will not be easy match for Federer, since Delpotro has very strong, precise and sharp shots. He won the second game, and now the result is 1:1. Federer won the third game, with two asses and great backhand overhead. The fourth game lasted 8 minutes and 36 seconds and so far it is the most interesting game in this match. Federer has an amazing unpredictable game.Delpotro lost the next game very quickly. The result is 4:1.The next games were so interesting, I forgot to write about them:). Federer won the first set with a result of 6:3. He has the game in his hands. The second set started very good for him, and now he has double break point, bur Delpo manages to return all of Federer`s shots. Federer has one more chance for break, but he loses it. Advantage for Roger and no, deuce again:). This game is from utmost importance for Delpotro in order to gain his self confidence again. So after five break points, Federer lost the first game in the second set.He also lost the third one, and now the result is 2:1. Delpo had his 6th as. However, he will have to try harder to win this match. In this set Roger Federer has twice as Delpotro`s unforced errors. The result is 2:2. Although the 6th game was not going very well for Delpotro, he managed somehow to combine all of his strengths, and won with a result now 4:2. Federer is on serve and he loses this game. This set was very exciting, because both of them were giving their best. Unfortunately for Delpotro, he lost this match, and Federer continues in the third round with James Blake. Too shame for Delpotro, but hey, he is only 22, he will make it;)

Roddick gets a Penalty Point

Today, Andy Roddick played against Philipp Kohlschreiber at the Western and Southern Open, where he lost his senses and lobbed a ball into the audience. He lost 6:7, 7:5, 6:1. When he lost the second set, Roddick got a warning about smashing his tennis racket, and at the beginning of the third set, he lobbed the ball into the audience, so the judge gave him a penalty point, and it was already 30: 40 for Kohlschreiber, so Andy Roddick lost the game. After that, he lost the match too. Not cool Roddick, not cool.

Another Prank by Novak Djokovic

Despite the fact that he is number one tennis racket, Novak Djokovic is also famous by his sense of humor and his jokes, pranks and impersonations on and off the court. Here is another one in Montreal, silly Djokovic 🙂

Nadal and Dodig Interview After the Match

Posted by Angelina On August - 12 - 2011ADD COMMENTS

As I have said before, this years Rogers Cup is a strange tournament, where an amazing turn of events have happened. Yesterday Federer lost from Tsonga, Djokovic had 2 chances to be eliminated, but the biggest surprise was the Nadal-Dodog match, where an amazing thing happened in the third set, which resulted in victory for Dodig. Although he is ranked 41 on the singles ATP list, he was handling it very well playing against the second tennis racket in the world and that is why he managed to struggle this game and win.

Nadal on the other side seemed very disappointed, mainly because he was giving his best, and yet he lost this match. But that`s tennis as he said, sometimes you win , sometimes you lose. It`s all about the moving and the moving on :).

Federer vs Tsonga, Roger`s Cup or Jo-Wilfried`s cup?

Federer Tsonga MontrealThe Federer-Tsonga match is just about to start. It is gonna be an interesting match I think, according to the latest happenings with those two on Wimbledon, where Tsonga defeated Federer. Before Montreal Tsonga was relaxing a little bit, he only played on the Davis Cup, where he won Philipp Kohlschreiber. Federer on the other side , just turned 30, but he is still optimistic about his profession, announcing that he will continue to play tennis for the next 3 or 4 years. The match began with a great backhand return from Tsonga. Federer returned with four amazing serves, two of which were aces. The second game is followed by a very aggressive game from  Federer. Tsonga is not considering to play on Federer`s forehand side, because every forehand return seems like a projectile on the other side. However, Tsonga won the second game, and the result now is 1:1. The next two games did not have any particular excitement, so they both goth one game, but in the next game Federer showed a little more aggressive tactic, so he won the fifth game, the result is 3:2. The 6-th game started with unforced errors from both players, but Tsonga managed do save the result with great service and then a forehand return. He seems very comfortable in this match, maybe because of the victory over Federer on Wimbledon.  He equaled the result, 3:3 it is, and the next game continues with equal result. Federer is on serve and he did no manage to return the passing shot from Tsonga, which resulted in game for him. But, karma is a bitch 🙂 so, Federer was not very merciful with Jo-Wilfried in the 7th game. Read the rest of this entry »

Djokovic v.s Davidenko in Montreal

Posted by Angelina On August - 10 - 2011ADD COMMENTS

So, here we are in Montreal (not literally):), where an amazing match is taking place at this very moment, Djokovic v.s Davidenko. Watching the game, it looks like someone, and by someone I mean Davidenko has been practicing a lot, while Djokovic was relaxing after becoming the world number one tennis racket. Well, I guess this match is going to be a reality check for Novak. It is like the story about the aunt and the grasshopper :). Currently, the result is 4:1 for Davidenko. The guy is on fire. He won 2 breaks, and looks very confident, like he was preparing all his life to win this match.  The 6th game just finished, with a break won by Novak Djokovic. It seems like he will be back on track. I guess he was expecting less from this match. But Davidenko is showing amazing psychic skills. He is “reading” every movement of Djokovic, so in the seventh game there was a point where he went after the ball even before Djokovic knew where he would hit it there. The 8-th game has finished with a result 4:4. Novak Djokovic is back in the game, but yeat again he is making some unforced errors, and on the other side, Nikolaj is fighting to win back this set. It is really one strange set. In one moment, the Serb is making mistakes that he must not do, and Davidenko is having the well known psychological condition called fear of success, and that is why he “gave away” 3 games . Now it is 5:4 for Davidenko, and he is again showing this unnecessary fear toward Djokovic. And here we go, it is 15:40 , and Davidenko just won a great point with an overhead. The game continues with deuce and advantage for Davidenko, and deuce again. Now Djokovic is having a break point, so he ties the result, 5:5, and just 13 minutes ago it was 4:1 for Davidenko. Amazing.  The weath

Djokovic-Nadal MAdrid 2011

Djokovic-Nadal MAdrid 2011

Maybe he is ranked as second seed, but today, Novak Djokovic maintained to dethrone the king of clay Rafael Nadal. After 10 tries on clay, he finally won Nadal and managed to keep his great start of this season, making this his 32nd consecutive win. Djokovic defeated Nadal with a result of 7-5 in the first set and 6-4 in the second. The first set upset the audience, with 4-0 for Djokovic, but then Nadal won 2 breaks and made a result of 5:5. The set ended with result 7:5. In the second set, both players were great with balanced game, but then again Djokovic managed to win the second set with 6:4. After 73 minutes, Djokovic became champion at the Madrid Masters 2011, beside the support that the audience was giving to Nadal. Bottom line, Nadal`s performance yesterday was just fine, but on the other side, Djokovic was superb, balancing his confidence with amazing game.
